MONDAY'S child is fair of face....
TUESDAY'S child is full of grace...
WEDNESDAY'S child is nice to know....
THURSDAY'S child has far to go...
FRIDAY'S child is loving and giving..
SATURDAY'S child works hard for a living...
But, a child born on a bright SUNDAY is fair and wise and good always...
I see no author listed for this poem, I can always remember this poem being around..If anyone knows who the author is ..let me know..I am told and do see this is a Mother Goose poem..
..How to figure the day of the week you were born.
...or anything else...
Beware..recently I found a site where you just put in your numbers and it is supposed to give you the right information. It was not correct. I wrote this person telling them nicely mine did not come out right. I do know which days my children were born, I wrote it in the baby books. They replied with a rather ignorant answer.
I have seen the man on TV called the human computer do this. He always says it is a simple formula. Here is the formula. Though I could never do it in my head like he does! I have figured a few with this, they came out right.
I suggest you print this out and try a few where you know the day. If you will look the whole thing over first I think that would help.
Step 1...Begin with the last 2 digits of the year you were born.
Step 2...Add1/4 of this number, disregarding any remainder.
Step 3...Add the date in the month.
Step 4...Add according to the month chart below...
January..1....(for leap year add 0)
February..4.... (for leap year add 3)
March..4
April 0
May..2
June..5
July..0
August..3
September..6
October..1
November..4
December..6
**Leap year defined below**
Step 5...Add for the...
18th century..4
19th century..2
20th century..0
21st century..6
Step 6...Total the numbers
Divide by 7. Check the remainder against this chart to find the day of the week.
1=Sunday
2=Monday
3=Tuesday
4=Wednesday
5=Thursday
6=Friday
0=Saturday
Here is the sample for my daughter and son...She was born on October 31 1965 so we take 65, divide this by 4, which gives us 16, then take 31, for October the chart shows 1, she was born in the 20th century, so we add 0 for this. Total these numbers for 113, divide this by 7, the remainder is 1, so she was born on Sunday, which is correct.
My son was born November 5 1970. So we start with 70, divide by 4, this gives us 17, the chart shows 5 for November, he was born in the 20 century, so add 0 for a total of 96, divide this by 7, the remainder is 5, he was born on Thursday.
Leap Year explained...leap year is any year which can be divided evenly by 4, except the years which mark the even hundred, such as 1400. The only century years that are leap years are the ones divided evenly by 400, such as 1600, 2000.
What happened ..On This Day... I give people a copy for their birthday. You can get this all the time for all days, it gives you about 3-4 pages of information.
