..Aug..well..at last I do see a few of the same names for boys..for a listing of 14 boy's names there are 3 Michaels..middle name use only and 2 for Noah as the first name....in another listing of 7 names..one I am not really sure if it is a boy's name or not..of the other 6 we have 2 with the middle name of Wayne..a name I considered for my son..there is a Nathan..Raymond..Garrett..I see another Matthew and Evan and another William..

..once again..I see names I have never seen..am not sure if a girl or a boy..I see a Grace Elizabeth..

..stand out as the most popular names and this was from 4 areas..Isabella and Grace tend to be used as both middle and first names..where Elizabeth and Marie are mostly middle names..

..I decided a while back to look for a new listing of names..so here goes..

..in a listing of 24 names we have no first names that are the same..the only thing that is the same is 2 middle names of Ashley..

..and speaking of names..how does Elizabeth Noel or Nicholas Alexander or Joseph Alexander sound..my daughter is adopting a baby..I just hope we do not have to fight for this one for 7 long years like one other..!!..

..anyway..the list has a Phil..could this be from the popular show Phil Of The Future..for boys there is Trevor..Galvin..Kyle..Michael..for girls we see Joan..Kimora..Savannah..I see some names I am not sure of..is Briley a boy or girl..guess I better go look at the middle name..Kayden too..there are some that could be either..Kelly..Lindsay..I would say sometmes the spelling gives it away..but that is not always true....week number 2..for girls we see..Melanie..Tess..Lily Jean..and LillyAnne Grace..these two are the only two at all alike....that is pretty..Madeline..For boys..William..Gavin..Charles..

This goes all the way back to 1880. What were the top 3 male and female names for 1900? Was William one? Was Karen one? The top 100 names for 2000-2002. Is yours one? Other years too, state listings. Top 1000 names too. I still do not see mine, though I seem to hear Marjorie everywhere. My gosh..I feel like someone is trying to tell me something.

I still see a lot of M names...now we add Michaela, Marissa, Miriam, to our list. Nicole is probably the most popular middle name.

The same thing with Shawn. We considered many other names for him. I was sure I was having another girl, the doctor even told me the baby looked like a girl. I had seen the name Shanda Denise and liked it, though my hubby's sister is Denise, and I do not care to use names already in use. ***Guess who I heard from? A real Shanda Denise..!!.. Charmin Bath Tissue was new to TV then, we told our daughter her new sister would be Shanda Charmin Ward. We still laugh about this. We thought of Kevin, Gary, but there were brothers and cousins with these names. A second Kevin had been born in the spring. Wayne and Bryan were other names I liked. My hubby came up with Heath and Gordon.

We laugh and say our son had no name except for Baby Boy Ward for four days. Then, we had to choose a name. I was sick, my roomate had a visitor. She had a hubby and son named Bryan and Wayne, she must have repeated these names 1000 times. I said we have to find a new name. Somehow he became Shawn, though, he wishes he was Kevin!!**we did end up with a Kevin..one of the adopted boys changed his name from Devin to Kevin and was given the middle name of Ward..he was pretty young and he use to say he was Kevin Pa Pa Ward Sellers..!!..he was Pa Pa's boy..

I notice too that M names are popular. There is Melinda, Melody, Madeline, Miranda, Marie, Melanie, Michele. Popular for middle names are Nicole, Elizabeth,Taylor.

**UPDATE 2004..the name on her baseball shirt..??..Kara Bara..that name has stuck..**Our five year old granddaughter is Kara Alayne, I think a real pretty name. The only problem is you find nothing much with Kara on it, if you do find anything, they spell it Cara. It was the same with Shawn, we found Sean. Kara wishes she was Olivia. Well, that was last month, now she wishes she was Emma! Kara just saw this page and was looking for her name, I said it is on there. Showed her and read this to her. She laughed, I said what is it going to be next month? She says my last name is going to be Olivia, my middle name Rainbow and my first name Emma. Emma Rainbow Olivia. What a name.

Now it is Emma Rainbow Ashley..and that is the last time she is going to change it..!!..

Kara has started kindergarten, her friend's name is Maggie..I tell her I am Maggie too! We talk about all my names, what can you do with Kara? I say Kar is about all you could use. I add, but you can have a nick-name. (besides baby or baby-girl, or BG..which has to go..)..so she says ok..today it is Mel C..that worked..for the day...

Now, my name, I love Marjorie, though I am called Maggie, Mag, Margaret, Marge, Margie, Midge, Madge and now Margurite. People spell it Marj, Marg, Margorie, I have changed how I spell my name over the years. When we were first married my husband put Margarine on some papers. I had to live with that for a while. Not long ago my car registration came back Margorie, I told him, we've been married 40 years and you still can't spell my name.**sure enough my hubby got debit cards..my name is spelled Margorie..!!.. I'm sure you women know what I'm talking about.

And someone is going to remember me as Marge Simpson with the blue hair! In college a few years back I was actually called Marjorie!! I have learned to take it as it comes. I don't care what you call me as long as you don't cuss at me. I tell people, don't worry about it, Margaret is fine. My full name is Marjorie Wilma Mary Smith Ward. I do use it. People say where did you get so many names? I reply Mary was my christian name I chose, I never liked Wilma, with the Mary I could tolerate it a bit better. People have always teased me. Even now my granddaughter will go Wilma!...

Mom says she has been sorry she gave me the Wilma name, people teased me, I said mom, they still do. At school in the cafeteria in front of everyone Kara says "she has Wilma in her name!"

I have honestly thought of having my name legally changed, but everyone knows and remembers my Wilma name.

I wrote a bit about our family names for my family history book. My sister Donna was to be Priscilla, we are glad that was left for Elvis's wife. Mom liked Linda, but there were too many, so off a tobacco can they took the name Donna, I bet it was Prima Donna Tobacco, though I have searched and never found this.

According to a list I found Marjorie was the 31st most popular name in the 40s, Donna was the 40th. Of course Priscilla is not on there, but I am surprised I do not see Linda. Of course it may have been popular in our area. I do know there were a lot of Linda's.

Our brother was named by me. I am sure mom had liked John Wayne, though she does not remember this. She says she sent names home from the hospital, I chose Ronald.

I have always liked our great grandmother Mattisons name. Arminda. I like our grandmother Bruchers name too, Lillian. One of the great grandchildren is named Lillian. My husband was named after Ronald Reagan, the then movie star, his mom said she had a picture of Ronald Reagan on her mantle. His sisters Linda and Denise were named after movie stars Linda Darnell and Denise Darcell
