Some of the Pecks lived up in Liberty, New York at one time. The story is that George Knox Mattison went by horse to Liberty. This is about a 15 min car trip from the Smallwood, White Lake area in 1999. He died, the horse came back into what is now Vassmers Store. It may have been called Fairweathers back then.

I would figure that Elizabeth Harrington may be Jane's mother.
The information about birthdates is taken off of census sheets. These sheets do not agree. The 1870 Census sheet shows Peck at age 55, Jane at age 50. This happens a lot. Some has to do with who provided the information, and the dates census were taken were not always the same. It shows occupations for them, under Elizabeth it says Miltiail occupation? Can anyone figure this out? I thought perhaps a hat maker, could not think of right name, that is millinery. Isn't it fun?
