I do have the book Log Cabin Families of Stone Mountain, North Carolina by Hardin and Virginia Royall. This book has listings especially for Brooks, Brown, Cox, Higgins, Hincher, Holloway, Hutchinson, Miles, Roberts, Royall, Sidden, Sparks, Spicer, Vannoy, Warren, Wood, Woodruff, Woooten. Many other names are included. But the ones shown are for the cabins. Locations of the cabins are shown, pictures of a few, and many other pictures. I understand from the authors there are no more of these books available. If you want to see a copy, try inter-library loan. I am more than willing to look for anyone.

The Sidden family is mentioned in the Wilkes County Heritage Book.
Richard Sidden was a main character in the novel The Heart of the Blue Ridge by Waldron Baily. My mother in law Georgia, her brother Fred remember another character Plutina Cox. The World Film Company released the movie in 1915 then re-released it again in 1917 under the title of The Savage Instinct. Two bears were brought in from New York at a cost of $1500.
Robert Cummings is listed as having starred in this movie, is this the same Bob Cummings who had the TV show, if anyone knows let me know and I will also try to find out.
I have now found I am able to order a copy of this book, I can't wait to get it.
Last year there was an article about the movie in Reel North Carolina, the film publication for the state. I wrote the author telling her this was my husband's family, I sent her copies I had made from the book. She tells me there are two copies of this movie, they want 200$ for each. She has had contact with the author's grandson.
Many from the Sidden family are buried up at Traphill in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery next to the church. The cabin they lived in is still on the property...
