December 2007..I made the crocheted Santa face..x-stitched the dog and Jingle Bells..there's a dog in a coat in the back and a plastic canvas Santa someone sent me..hang your ornaments in bunches of 3..with some ribbon..I had icicle lights on my patio..but to think I use to put out tons of lights..had 80+ sets..and I would spend January fixing them..mom even had a real tree..the first in years..

..I had bought all new blue stuff before the stroke..it did not make it..!!..though I think I have some of it..I think I still have the Santa pattern..

..somtheing made in America..really..buy em..when I went to the store Sunday there were 4 left of two boxes of them..I usually buy one when they first appear..when I went back there were 3 left..!! for the price you can't beat em..

In our local phone book there are 5 listings for the name of Christmas. I remember my daughter's friend's mom's maiden name was Christmas. There are 2 with the name Claus. 16 with the name of Jolly..and not even one Jingle..

I am finishing up a burgundy, dark green, cream square afghan. It is really very pretty. I got an idea, I have started some of the tiny stockings in the same color, so when I go to give the afghan away I will take a matching Tiny Stocking with candy in it. I am concerned though because my hubby smokes one after another and I know the smell gets in them. Anyone have any good ideas for getting it out.

...Potholder idea..

One year I took Christmas potholders and mitts and decorated with them on one wall in my kitchen. Just add wooden spoons, I left mine as they were. To this I added Christmas greens, picks and a bow.

Another year when we were in Charlotte I made a snowman and lady using white trash bags. At night they sure looked real. I won 2nd place. The little boy next door was so enthused. His father said I think we are going to have to go buy some lights which they did!! We went to see a house that was lighted top to bottom. Everything in the yard too. Yes, even the mailbox. It really was great. Good thing we went. The next year it was gone. We were to go to PTL too they had tons of lights and I did not get to go, my daughter did. Good thing as the next year it was gone!

I use the blank side of my cards to make weekly TO DO lists, for grocery lists and even for bookmarks as I am usually reading 3 or 4 books at a time!

I saw the neatest decoration. Years ago in the south it was popular to take the big cones thread etc came on from the mills and make a centerpiece from them which hung on your wall.

Someone had taken paper doilies, roll up just like an ice cream cone, spray with gold and put Christmas decorations in the middle. You make them go in a circle. It really was pretty. I may try one.

Xavier Roberts was the founder of Cabbage Patch Dolls. One Christmas in the 1980s it was next to impossible to find these dolls. Sears later got some and I put 5 on Lay a Way, but changed my mind and only kept 2 dolls, Jerome and Jodi which I still have. They need new outfits. Perhaps I should work on that for next Christmas.
