Welcome....I hope you, like me, just Love those Duke Boys..!!.. When the show first came back on television, I could hardly remember any of this. I sent a little quiz out to people in e-mail. I think one person got it all right. To get the correct information I watched the shows closely, visited the library to seek out facts.

The Dukes of Hazzard was and is one of my favorite shows. How much do you remember? Do you know what J.D. Hogg's initials stood for? The show was on from January 1979-August 1985. It came on CBS. At one time there was a Saturday morning animated cartoon, the regulars provided the voices for the characters.
John and Tom walked out in 1982 over contract disputes. They came back later on. It was explained they were on the NASCAR circuit. Around 2230 applied to replace John and Tom.
A Kiss* and a Hug to Me from...The Boss...!!...
Me is Marjorie Smith Ward! Ben Jones (Cooter) was from Wilmington, North Carolina, where we lived. I was in a group his mother was in. When she went to visit her son on the set, I told her I really liked Boss Hogg. So, she brought a big kiss and hug back from him for me. Plus, she gave me a picture of Ben and Sorrell, one of John Schneider too. I still have them.
Our son Shawn has an 8x10 picture of Cooter with a big 10-4 on it. Shawn really loved the show. The funny thing was our neighbor's 4 year old son, Josh, looked just like John Schneider. We now have another generation of Hazzard watchers. Bobby likes Cooter and has the picture on his wall now.

There seems to be a continous debate over the spelling of Rosco. I was using Roscoe, because I was sure that was what I had seen on the show credits. Yet, later I did think I saw Rosco. So, I have changed mine and will continue to look for this. I thought for sure it was Daisey. I was wrong.
In the first episode perhaps some of the question about the spelling of Rosco's name is answered. If you watch closely at the start the credits show Rosco, the sign he is holding shows Rosco too, but at the very end of the show the big sign at the orphanage shows Welcome Sheriff Roscoe!! I knew I had seen Roscoe on the show somewhere!
Big Dan Hogg was Boss's cousin. Many have this listed as Big Don Hogg, but they call him Dan, the credits say Dan. Unless he was in another episode and they messed up!
Daisy gets Dixie in The Runaway, episode #28 after Bo and Luke lose her car to Kissing Cliff.
In all there were around 300 General Lees the show went through. They kept an extra ready at all times. How many police cars did they go through? Probably 300 a month!!

I loved the re-union show. I do wish they would have had a few of the other characters in the story though. And, I almost think it should have been a two parter with some flash backs! All of the main cast members were there, except for Sorrell Booke, Boss Hogg, he passed away in 1994.
