          ..Congratulations to Wendy Sellers on winning the chilli cook-off at our church..she said last year that if she-d put hers in it would have won..this year it did..and I swear I'll get the recipe on here..I wrote it down last year just before I had the stroke so who knows where it is..mine was tied for last place..boo..!!..I swear I made it and I did not think it tasted right..I have never used cumin before so I figured it was that..

          ..it was supposed to be vegetarian..so I added some meat said maybe that will do it..no..I swear I heard them say on tv to add cinnamon so I did and forgot about it..but my daughter said take it anyway so I did..what a joke..last place..my hubby used that stuff in the brown bag..made it for the guys at work..and there were 11 chillis too..

          ..they laughed because I put cinnamon in mine but here's a recipe to prove it.

          ..congratulations to Wendy and Kristina Sellers for winning 1st and 2nd place in the pumpkin carving contest in the Walden Ridge neighborhood..Kristina won 1st and I forget what for..Wendy won second for the barfing pumpkin..they told her she had 1st but at the last minute someone brought in one of the Prez with bigggg ears and it won..there were over 60 pumpkins..we hope to get pictures..

          You do want this chilled really well, I do recall someone making this and telling me you put the sherbet in at the last minute. This recipe said to scoop it into a bowl, then add the drinks. There are no sizes shown, so, I would say use the large ginger-ale and the large cans of pineapple. One person said they made this with two small cans of crushed pineapple.

          ***I was just at a party and they served this with the pineapple juice, apple juice, ginger ale and lime sherbet..it was very good..

          Something I had never heard about before is pumpkin launching. I tried to find a real good site but so far have not found one. I shall continue to look. But you could come up with some real good ideas for this. Children and adults could hand launch. Given enough time all could come up with some real neat ideas to launch pumpkins. I saw note too of a pumpkin seed spitting contest. Some of those salty ones would be sooooooooo gooooood.

          I went to my daughters for a while this summer..when I came home there were vines out the fence halfway across the sidewalk..this was just from things I throw outside..we found one of the little mini pumpkins..one year it was gourds..

          a note about clingers...I put some up today ..they have been rolled up probably for a few years...I said the baby is coming I will use them...run warm water over them and they easily come apart..press good with a damp cloth..most any wrinkles come out..where they did not stick good I used tape..which as they dry you can not see..they look fine..I put them all over..some on a big jar I had..the door..fridge..

          The cider mill up home was so nice. Gosh I sure wish I had some of their cider. Ron and Donna had it warm. It was really good. This is the Cider Mill over towards Jeffersonville NY.

          Robin's World Famous Cream Cheese Sandwiches

          8oz Cream cheese softened
          3 tsp mayonnaise
          1/2 package Good Seasons Italian Dressing
          Dash of hot sauce
          Food coloring of your choice, match your holidays...

          Mix all ingredients well. Spread on bread with crust removed. Cut in half. Wendy later used cookie cutters for these. None were ever left!
