Someone was kind enough to send me this picture of the Forestine School and with their permission I now share this with you. I printed out a copy for my Family History book, I then put a border around it.

Class pictures from Forestine School. This is where the Brucher children attended school. Mom says they went to school here and then went to White Lake for regents exams. This is the only school they ever attended. There were a few teachers here including Miss Freda Neuberger and Mr Frank Brown, Mr Smith, Dorothy Fry Schaefer. Mom says Dorothy was only nineteen when she started teaching. There were a few other teachers names she does not remember.
For lunch they went home, but in winter they would bring biscuits and things from home to make soup for everyone. They would have to go early to get a fire started in winter. They started school at 9am. Some did not start going to school until they were seven years old. Note there are no power lines! So, the little sheds in back you see were probably for storing wood.
There were inside bathrooms. Mom says they used a pump on the Schaefer land to get water. She says it seems there was a spring too. Inside the school there may have been a pump, they had a big container in the corner with a spigot. They filled this in the morning to last all day. Mom still has one of her school books, I will copy some of that too.
I will send my mom and Aunt a copy of this, I am sure they will both be pleased to see it. I forwarded this to some other family members too.

I am told the school is still there. It was turned into a house.
There is a picture with many of the parents and an article written in The White Lake Times on this link.
Mom says towards the end of the school year there would be a picnic during the day where everyone came. Then on Friday night there would be an exercise at The Chapel which later became the Whie Lake Fire Company building.
For regents the students would go to the school in White Lake.
